Beer Mask for Voluminous Hair

Super Bowl weekend has come to an end and while you are clearing out the dirty dishes and trash, you may want to set a few brewskis aside.  Beer can act as a miracle worker for those who want to add a little life to those frazzled locks. Beer is packed with vitamins and nutrients that maybe your body doesn’t need but your hair could sure us. It has properties that help to thicken the hair, giving it the appearance of fullness and volume and it also contains proteins that provide shine and strength
  • B vitamins and protein repair damaged hair, promote growth, and boost overall body and shine
  • Maltose and sucrose sugars enhance shine
  • Corn, rice, and wheat protein add volume, making hair seem thicker both by swelling the hair shaft and depositing proteins on the outer shaft

If you are in need of hair theraphy, try this little concoction for an instant hair boost.  You will need:

1 ripe banana
1 egg
½ cup flat beer (Crystal used Bud Ice)
1 tablespoon of honey

To create the mask:

  1. Mash the banana creating a thick consistency
  2. Mix in one egg and blend until smooth (a hand mixer could be helpful)
  3. Add ½ cup of flat beer, then one tablespoon of honey and blend
  4. Apply to scalp, roots and all the way to your ends
  5. Let your mask sit for a few hours, and then shampoo out

You can let the mask sit for about an hour and a half.  The mask is thin so you can wrap your hair with in a plastic cap so that the mask won’t get on anything.  After it sits for a while, you will notice that it will begin to get hard, which will also allow it to stick to the hair better.

RESULTS: no beer after-smell only soft hair full of volume!
